Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global organization that enables companies to set ambitious emissions reduction targets in line with the latest climate science. The goal is to accelerate the reduction of emissions by half globally by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Rejlers has approved near and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets with the SBTi. The SBTi has also verified Rejlers’s net-zero science-based target by 2050. These targets make sure that we are in line with the Paris Climate Agreement and international standards, ensuring credibility and accountability as we work towards our near-term and net-zero targets. It represents a further step up for our internal climate ambitions and actions.

The initiative is a collaboration between CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and is one of the commitments of the We Mean Business Coalition. SBTi defines and promotes best practices in science-based target setting, provides resources and guidance to reduce barriers for adoption, and conducts independent evaluations of companies’ targets.
